Neat Vehicles first Electric Vehicle is rated at 4,250 Kg but can still be driven on a car licence because it is an EV unit so is in the same category as a 3,500 Kg Diesel vehicle for driving licences and it is in both of our “Vehicles up to 3,500 Kg” category and also “Vehicles up to 7,500 Kg” Category.
Tower Hamlets use the vehicle as a Safer Neighbourhood Vehicle for use within their borough and is deployed to protect the community in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police.
On board the unit is an array of equipment to both inform and protect the public. A CCTV system monitors around the immediate vicinity which is recorded to enable the footage to be reviewed. The vehicle has Wifi, a P.C. , a printer and three screens, one inside the office, one in the public information area and one on the outside giving public information. There is also an LED messaging board which is programmable on the outside of the vehicle. Inside there are plenty of information leaflet dispensers and poster holders fitted internally and externally. The vehicle is split into two rooms, one is a private consultation room which contains First Aid Kit, Blood Kit, all the IT equipment, a small fridge, seating area and ramp stowage. The general public information area is separated from the consultation room by a bulkhead with a lockable door.
The vehicle is powered by an Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil Generator and the heating and cooling is provided by an under bench air conditioning/ heating unit. There is an alarm and Tracker system on board with panic alarm and externally there is an electric awning with stays back to the body. An externally mounted display panel covers the doors and hides the cab when deployed and punched aluminium steps and handrails complete the set up.
