Smile Direct Club approached us to see if we could come up with a mobile dental scanning vehicle for taking around the country to scan customers teeth and provide a full service from whitening to making new aligners to straighten customers teeth. The brief was that the vehicle had to hold enough stock for the weeks scanning, provide a waiting area, be self contained and be a modern mobile version of one of the companies high street stores. We came up with a design which could have two or three consultation rooms and a waiting area and reception, all on an expandable low floor van. The vehicle was uprated to 5,500 Kg by fitting air suspension and it was fitted out initially as a two consultation room setup with a curved reception, screens in every room, Itero scanning units fitted into the consultation rooms along with storage drawers and cupboards, all with curved fronts and LED downlights and uplights fitted tuned into the companies trademark Blurple colour. The outside was also fully wrapped in the specially printed Blurple along with images. Within the consultation rooms mirrors were added in order to increase the perceived size of the rooms. A disabled ramp, generator and air conditioning units were also fitted and the unit will be returning to have the third consultation room fitted soon. All set up operations are by one person with the aid of hydraulic operation.
