The Client
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council Safer Neighbourhood team in conjunction with Metropolitan Police Officers and Community Support Officers. There are 20 Safer Neighbourhood teams around the Borough
The Objective
To provide a vehicle which is green with its carbon footprint, which can be driven locally by anybody with a car licence and is able to be a point of contact in Tower Hamlets to combat Anti Social Behaviour and provide a refuge for people in distress or a source of reference for people requiring information about making the area a Safer Neighbourhood.
The Result
We designed the vehicle on a fully Electric Ford Transit chassis cab and extended the chassis from an L4 standard chassis to an extended L5 chassis to give us more room in the vehicle. Our body was built as lightweight as possible with composite panels and an aluminium subframe. The customer was delighted with the end result and said of the vehicle –

- P.C, wifi, printer and monitor all fitted on board
- External LED messaging board for information linked to P.C.
- Alarm fitted with Panic alarm on board.
- Emergency First Aid, Blood Kits and Defibrillator fitted
