Neat Vehicles were involved in building the trailer for the engine testing for the new Hydrogen Aircraft engine for Rolls Royce. In conjunction with Aerotest who specialise in aircraft testing structures, we designed and modified an existing trailer which had been designed for a lighter smaller engine and re-purposed it to take the increased weight of the new engine and testing structure, altering the chassis and adding new axles to increase the weight capacity, including the addition of an additional rear axle and new turntable and frame, also providing calculations for overturning when going round corners with the engine in place.
We stripped the chassis down and repainted it to RR specification and the testing structure and handrails were added to the chassis. The end result can be seen in situ at the NASA site where testing took place and we have another photo of the chassis in our factory before the upper structure went on
