Fujifilm Healthcare UK Ltd is the healthcare division of the Global brand providing Diagnostic and Imaging equipment across the UK
The Objective
To provide a mobile Community Diagnostic Vehicle which contains all the necessary equipment able to reach remote communities and other areas and diagnose medical issues, to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and give earlier prognosis.
The Result
We designed and built a module which fits inside a standard car such as the Toyota RAV 4 and contains all the necessary compartments for the portable x ray and other diagnostic equipment necessary. For more information on the vehicle on our website, please go to
Vehicle Features
The CDV module contains compartments for all the following equipment:
- FDR Xair Portable X-ray: An ultra-lightweight X-ray system (weighing just 3.5kg) equipped with a lithium battery, allowing radiographers to perform X-rays inside care homes, GP surgeries, or even at a patient’s doorstep.
- FDR D-EVO III Detector: The world’s first glass-free, flexible film-based digital X-ray detector, designed to produce high-quality images with low dosage requirements.
- PACS Imaging System : Synapse 7X Carried in a Go Bag
- Battery charger– Twin Battery charger compartment for the X Ray Unit.
- Point of care Blood Analyser – The Dri -Chem NX600 Automated Blood Analyser provides results on the spot, mounted over the passenger seat behind the driver to enable the user to sit in the other rear passenger seat when using it.
- Portable Ultrasound Solution – Utilising the I-viz Wireless Portable Ultrasound unit
- Sharps container – for used needles
- Small portable Vaccine Fridge – to contain the slides for the Dri-Chem NX600 and keep them at the correct temperature
- Battery and Inverter system– to power the fridge, battery chargers, Blood Analyser, Laptop, Imaging System, I pads, phone chargers. Wired into solar panel mounted on car roof and also wired to an external input socket for overnight mains charging.
- 2 No. Drawers for small parts
- 2 No. Compartments with power sockets and USBs for charging devices
- Cloud Connectivity: Utilizes 5G connectivity to transmit imaging and test results directly to hospital radiology departments and local doctors for immediate evaluation.
